The village of La Martre
The village of La Martre is located in the Haut-Var at 997m altitude, behind the Brouis mountain in the Artuby valley.
Surrounded by mountains, woods and meadows, the village is known as the starting point for several hikes.
In the vicinity of this village there are several monuments and historical buildings:

Château de Taulane
The Château de Taulane is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the region, so large that it extends over 3 departments: the Var, the Alpes Maritimes and the Alpes de Haute Provence.
- The Merovingian ruins of the Castellas which dominates the village with the Basilica of Notre Dame de Pierre Longue dating from the 12th century.
- The mystical Pont de Madame built “certainly” in memory of Hélène Isnard de la Martre who financed its construction in 1735. An emblematic natural place where the Artuby river passes through the woods with its magnificent milky color. A corner of greenery that attracts more and more people for its natural side, without network and far from the crowds!
